Shimeji Maitake (舞茸 しめじ) is a screenwriter. He writes the story script of Exodus! and Third Aerial Girls Squad. When producing Third Aerial Girls Squad, he is also Midori Imai's mentor.

When Seiichi Kinoshita got stuck at writing the storyboard, Yutaka Honda invites Maitake to talk with Kinoshita. He asks Kinoshita some questions, let Kinoshita knows how to make a new ending.
When he writing Third Aerial Girls Squad, Midori wants him to teach her writing. While he refuses to have students, he gives the alternative way to teach her: Give her some issues to let her write and help to fix her scripts.
